Epilogue │ Mengyao Qin
Epilogue serves as both a conclusion and an opening - the final note of one narrative and the quiet beginning of another. Inspired by the film Sentimental Value, Qin imagines the scene from the perspective of the room itself: a silent witness to the lives that pass through it, absorbing fragments of their stories as they arrive, settle and eventually move on.
In a hotel room, people bring their histories from elsewhere, stay briefly and leave again, making space for new stories to unfold. Painted on satin fabric, Epilogue carries this sense of transience and renewal. The surface glows softly, holding the emotional residue of past moments while inviting future ones to take shape.
Qin hopes the work not only tells her own story, but also becomes a vessel - a place where viewers can project, remember and weave their own memories into the room’s evolving narrative.

This contemporary artwork is presented as part of an exclusive three‑month residency in collaboration with The Grand Hotel Birmingham and is available exclusively via pedoneart.com for the duration of the exhibition.
The collection remains on private display until 1st July, after which all pre‑secured works will be released and delivered to collectors. Works may be acquired and secured throughout the residency period.
For select pieces, a limited number of editions may be available to order, offering collectors the opportunity to acquire original contemporary art with controlled scarcity and long‑term value. Availability is strictly limited and confirmed upon direct enquiry.

Complimentary delivery is offered within a 50‑mile radius of The Grand Hotel Birmingham.
For all other UK and international locations, specialist fine art couriers will be arranged at cost price, with no additional handling fees. Delivery is coordinated to suit private collectors, interior designers and trade clients.
International shipping is available upon request. All customs duties and import taxes remain the responsibility of the buyer.
